Laurelwood Road
Laurelwood Road
Named after a popular district in Portland, Laurelwood Road is Northwest Modern style. Also called Northwest Regional, this design style is a mixture of Mid-Century Modern, the Bauhaus movement, and Japanese aesthetics. As its name would imply, it is found primarily in the Pacific Northwest and is said to “embody the essence of the region.” Pacific Modern style follows the shape and colors of the nature that surrounds it, and brings more of that nature indoors. It primarily uses organic materials, especially locally-sourced wood and stone.
